LOCAL vendor, Patrick Mthembu (53) received a special surprise when he took ownership of a new bicycle and mobile tuckshop donated by an Alton business.
Castle Hill Trading. Staff designed and fitted the metal carrier box to Mthembu’s bicycle and the sponsorship was their effort to boost the popular street vendor’s business and coincided with Mandela Day celebrations.
After being retrenched five years ago, he started the small business using a trolley and walked to businesses in Richards Bay selling refreshments.
